Later it entered to the faculty of physical sciences of his State which retired to devote itself to the art.  Began to edit art magazines  and  to learn the technical work of sculpture. Though Javier is a sculptor, it has dedicated a considerable time to producing a worrying photographic work.

Inside his notable taste for the portrait, his photographies are frontal, face-to-face with his model who retouches to wrap it in a dramatic atmosphere. His portraits are direct and violent nudes, but of an expressive force and a graphical and photographic unquestionable efficiency.

ZENA HOLLOWAY

Was born in Bahrain in 1973 and raised in London. At 18 she traveled the globe working as a SCUBA instructor and developed a passion for underwater photography and film. Completely self-taught Zena’s images are striking, instinctive and driven by a deep understanding of her medium. She delivers the remarkable combining the highly technical aspects of underwater photography with superb creative direction resulting in extraordinary magical imagery. She has taken underwater photography to entirely new depths. Zena’s renowned underwater photography appears regularly for publications such as How to Spend it, The Observer Magazine, 125, Tatler and Dazed & Confuzed. She has won many international awards and her commercial clients include: Nike, Umbro, Polydor, Sony, Epson, Herbal Essences and Jacuzzi. Technically, shooting underwater may be the biggest challenge a photographer can face. Not only is the environment diametrically opposed to the equipment required, but the water itself also can act as an aberrant lens and a cc filter all in one. Holloway has overcome these technical challenges by spending so much time underwater that working there is second nature.

MAX SAUCO

Max Sauco is a Russian artist using photography as a tool for digital manipulation in order to create a symbolistic universe very inspired by surrealism (Salvador Dali, Max Ernst...) but maybe also by the Hipgnosis visuals for rock records during the seventies. Most of the symbolic contents are quite enigmatic (at least to me) but most of these oeuvres are very strong. Here I begin with the series featuring seagulls (and a dog) since the first was one of my fave picture during months and I did not know who was the author. Now I know and I'm glad to see than this was made by a talented one. I don't adhere to all of the backgrounds of his cliches but I can't deny he is one important artist of our times. More to come. And if you don't want to wait, his site here. Don't forget to click on the pictures of this post to see them full size. It's much more impressive.

ALBERTO GARCIA ALIX

Master Spanish photographer Alberto Garcia Alix is known as one of the best oeuvres in contemporary Spanish photography. He is the foremost photographer to emerge from Spain's La Movida, the post-Franco era of free expression. Through his documentarian approach, he vibrantly captures the atmosphere of 1980's Madrid and beyond. His photographs fall into two fundamental genres: portraiture and still life. They are often provacative, erotic, and personal.
In 1999, he received the prestigious National Award of Photography of Spain. He has also designed the album covers of leading musical performers in Spain and Europe.

OLEG DURYAGIN

DOU is the portfolio of young Russian photographer Oleg Duryagin. He works mostly on the human figure, and, in particular, the human face. This is the object of meticulous investigation and transformation for Duryagin, since his aim is to question post-human identity. All that is flesh goes through a kind of digital metamorphosis; it is erased, smoothed, and rendered to extreme precision. The finished portraits look very sculptural, non-human, surreal, inanimate, and in many cases, you can see a transparency of the porcelain skin underlining the fragility of every portrait

I have always been interested in human individuality and self-expression... The persons presented in my works lack individuality: the eyebrows and the eyelashes are removed, the skin is smoothed... Visually I am inspired by culture of fashion and surrealists. I often shock people. I try to create the my personal aesthetics of the works, I try to combine reality with artificiality. Oleg Duryagin
